The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Utilities & Facilities Manager to join a leading manufacturing operation in Banbury. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven facilities or engineering professional to take ownership of all site utilities and facilities services, ensuring optimum reliability, efficiency, compliance and cost performance.
Working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in managing critical utilities infrastructure, facilities operations, contractor relationships, maintenance programmes, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all site utilities including water, electricity, HVAC systems, compressed air, and waste management.
  • Lead facilities operations including building maintenance, cleaning services, security, and general site services.
  • Manage external contractors and service providers, ensuring high standards of performance, compliance, and value for money.
  • Drive energy efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives across the site.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes for utilities and facilities assets.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure the effective operation of all systems and services.
  • Support infrastructure improvement, expansion, and upgrade projects.
  • Work closely with operational and engineering teams to ensure utilities and facilities support production requirements.
  • Monitor budgets, service contracts, and performance metrics to achieve operational objectives.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
  • A degree or qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience managing utilities and facilities within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience managing maintenance, engineering, or facilities teams.
  • Strong understanding of utilities systems including HVAC, electrical, water, compressed air, and building services.
  • Experience implementing preventative maintenance strategies and utilising CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing standards and compliance requirements, including Health & Safety and Environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering energy-saving and cost-reduction projects.
  • Strong contractor and supplier management skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
