Senior Mechanical Engineer

Our client is a leading engineering and project services company who provide bespoke solutions across a number of marine related sectors. Due to recent projects won they now require a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their busy North East office. The successful candidates will be responsible for the coordination, technical leadership and successful delivery of bespoke Engineering projects across a variety of markets. The Role Taking ownership as the design authority and provide technical leadership of a team of Engineers in the successful delivery of projects, within the specified time, budget, to the specification and the required quality standards.Providing supervision to a team of Engineers including coaching, mentoring, providing direction and intervention when requiredEnsuring that the Engineering project team clearly understand their responsibilities throughout the full project lifecycle (concept through to installation), taking ownership to make key decisions, call reviews when required and approval of design documentation within the design teamPromoting ownership to the Engineering team, ensuring there is a focus on delivery and commitment to hitting deadlinesEnsuring compliance with design practices / guidelines and provide input into continuous improvement activities.
