The role supports the delivery of the company’s long-term financial strategy and ensures effective management of financial risks.Key areas of oversight include:Asset-liability management and hedgingMatching AdjustmentSolvency UK, UK GAAP, and IFRS 17 balance sheetsLiquidity and capital managementClimate-related financial risksContributions to Recovery and Resolution Plans and ORSAKey ResponsibilitiesLead oversight of Group and UK legal entity balance sheetsProvide Line 2 advice and challenge on financial strategy and riskMaintain and enhance financial risk frameworks and appetiteDeliver Line 2 opinions on material business decisionsChampion effective and efficient risk oversight using technology and AIProvide technical and people leadership, fostering a high-performance cultureInfluence executive-level decisions and deliver strategic reportingLead by example and support team development through coaching and thought leadershipEssential Experience and SkillsDeep understanding of life insurance products (especially BPA and annuities)Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (Solvency UK, IFRS 17, UK GAAP)Expertise in balance sheet modelling, solvency and liquidity analysis, ALM, hedging, and climate financial risksProven experience in financial risk oversight and framework developmentAbility to balance commercial outcomes with risk considerationsStrong leadership and change management skills in complex organisationsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial conceptsInclusion and AccessibilityApplicants from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
