The OpportunityAre you a resilient and trauma-informed individual looking to support vulnerable learners in Blackpool? We are seeking an SEMH Support Mentor to join our specialist team this May.This is a Temp-to-Perm position, meaning you will start on a temporary basis to ensure the school and the student are the right fit for you, with a direct pathway to a permanent contract and long-term career stability. You will be working in an environment where "behaviour is communication," supporting students who face challenges with emotional regulation and mental health.Key Responsibilities1:1 and Small Group Support: Provide bespoke emotional and academic support to students with identified SEMH needs.Trauma-Informed Practice: Use nurturing and de-escalation strategies to help pupils regulate their emotions and manage their behaviour safely.Barrier Removal: Identify and address barriers to learning, helping students re-engage with their education and build self-esteem.Collaborative Care: Work alongside the SENCO, Educational Psychologists, and Pastoral leads to implement personalised intervention plans.Classroom Integration: Support the Class Teacher in maintaining a calm and predictable learning environment for all students.What We Are Looking ForResilience: The ability to remain calm and professional in the face of challenging behaviour.Backgrounds: We welcome applications from Qualified TAs (Level 2/3) or Unqualified individuals with experience in youth work, residential care, ..... full job details .....
