The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources department in delivering an efficient and effective HR service across the organization. This role involves a wide range of administrative tasks including recruitment coordination, maintaining employee records, assisting with payroll and benefits, and supporting the implementation of HR policies and procedures. Acting as a first point of contact for general HR queries, the HR Assistant helps ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations while upholding confidentiality and compliance with employment legislation.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Posting job adverts on job boards and company websitesCoordinating interviews and communicating with candidatesAssisting with shortlisting candidatesPreparing offer letters and employment contractsSupporting new hire onboarding and induction processesMaintaining and updating employee records (digital and physical)Processing HR paperwork (e.g. right to work checks, contracts, change of details)Ensuring compliance with GDPR regarding employee dataAssisting with reference checks and pre-employment screeningRecording sick leave, holiday requests, and other absencesMonitoring attendance and flagging issues to HR ManagerPreparing reports on leave and absences when neededHelping ensure company policies are up to date and communicatedSupporting implementation of HR policies and proceduresAssisting with investigations or grievance procedures when requiredResponding to routine HR queries from staffAssisting in the organization of training sessions or staff eventsSupporting performance review processesHelping with internal communications and staff noticesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:NVQ Level 1, Vocational Qualification Level 1, GCSE grade D-G, ESOL skills for life, Functional Skills Level 1 English Math and ICT.1 year of Administrative ExperienceAbility to maintain confidential informationStrong administrative and organization skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:CIPD Level 3 or working towards itExperience with HR software products (e.g. MyHR/Dayforce)Familiarity with UK employment law and HR best practices1 years’ experience in Human ResourcesJob Family Human ResourcesJob Function Human Resources Assistant, Except Payroll and Timekeeping20 Progress Rd, Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-Sea SS9 5PR, ..... full job details .....
