Clinical Fellow (SPR) in Cardiology & Cardio-Oncology

OverviewThis fellowship offers hands-on experience in managing cardiovascular complications in cancer patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, with opportunities in research, audit, and service development. Fellows will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including leading consultants, nurse specialists, and research staff. Start date: March 2026. Interviews: Virtual, November 2025 (dates TBC). Ideal for motivated clinicians with strong clinical skills, leadership potential, and a passion for cardio-oncology. Responsibilities
Join the cardio-oncology and cardiology service at Royal Brompton Hospital in collaboration with medical and surgical colleagues and other departments and services.
Participate in new patient and follow-up outpatient clinics led by consultants.
Provide inpatient services to cardio-oncology and cardiology patients.
Participate in an on-call rota covering inpatient activity and emergency work.
Supervise and train junior staff allocated to cardiology.
Be a full member of the multidisciplinary team, including involvement in rota, weekly MDTs and meetings.
Undertake regular ward rounds to support effective inpatient management and early discharge when possible.
Participate in audit within the department and maintain the cardio-oncology database.
Contribute to the service and training programme of the Division.
Perform bedside transthoracic echocardiography when on call.
Support the cardio-oncology service and liaise with oncology partners at other hospitals.
Qualifications and Requirements
Full GMC registration (prior to application).
MRCP (UK) or equivalent; general cardiology training highly desirable.
