Welder Fabricator

An established metal fabrication and manufacturing company in County Durham is recruiting an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their production team.

This Welder / Fabricator role covers welding, fitting, setting and assembling fabricated structures to design specifications, working closely with the Team Leader to hit agreed production targets. It is a varied Welder / Fabricator position within a well equipped, established workshop.

What you'll be doing

• Welding, fitting and assembling metal structures to design specifications
• Evaluating engineering drawings and working to required standards
• Meeting individual and team targets in line with agreed dates
• Completing safety checks and documentation to standard
• Carrying out welding and fabrication tasks using a range of equipment
• Transferring material around the factory as required
• Contributing to new working methods and process improvements
• Following 5S and wider health and safety standards

What we're looking for

• Minimum Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding Engineering, coded certification is an advantage
• Over three years in a relevant industry, competent in Mig, Tig and heat welding
• Good attention to detail and a solid grasp of maths and engineering drawings
• Experience of Lean working practices
• A flexible, team focused approach

Please note that full training is not provided for this Welder / Fabricator role, so applicants should be confident welding to a professional standard from the outset.
