Transport Planner

Location: West Midlands Salary: £33,000 £36,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent The Role We re currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy and growing transport operation. You ll be responsible for planning daily transport movements, coordinating drivers and vehicles, and making sure collections and deliveries run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, is confident communicating with drivers and customers, and can stay organised when plans change at short notice. Key Responsibilities Plan daily transport schedules and allocate work to drivers Coordinate vehicles and trailers to meet operational requirements Monitor deliveries and collections throughout the day Keep in regular contact with drivers, customers and internal teams React quickly to delays, breakdowns and changes to planned routes Monitor driver hours and ensure operations remain compliant Maintain accurate transport and operational records Liaise with customers regarding delivery and collection requirements Monitor vehicle availability and assist with fleet planning Identify opportunities to improve vehicle utilisation and reduce unnecessary mileage Support the wider transport operation with general administration and reporting PLEAS NOTE THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE YOU TO WORK EVERY OTHER SATURDAY.
