Job Opportunity: Temporary Accounts Payable Assistant

Location: London City
Salary: £18 per hour
Employment Type: Full-time

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a temporary Accounts Payable Assistant to manage and oversee the accounts payable functions within a finance department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who is looking to ensure accurate and timely payments to suppliers while contributing to the overall financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding, approval, and authorisation for payment.
  • Review supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies, ensuring all invoices are paid on time.
  • Prepare and process payments to suppliers via BACS or cheque in line with company policies.
  • Assist in maintaining the accounts payable ledger and ensure accurate posting of transactions.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to support monthly and year-end reconciliations.
  • Assist with audits and any other ad-hoc financial tasks as required.
  • Manage and reconcile petty cash transactions as part of the daily accounts payable procedures.

About You:

  • Previous experience in an accounts payable or finance role.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting software is an advantage.
