Job Overview
The post holder will hold responsibility for the overall stock control for the organisation, including the development, performance and maintenance of processes to produce efficient systems and deliver stock accuracy throughout the business.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain good working practices and processesSuggest improved working methods and initiate implementationEnsure wider logistics team understands stock control, its importance and that all are working together to achieve accuracyPerforming physical inventory counts regularly to ensure system records match the actual inventory levelsConfirm stocks being returned from machines are clearly labelled with item code and quantities match MISMake sure returned stock is put away at the earliest opportunityMaintain stock accuracy by updating the system in a timely mannerInvestigate stock discrepancies, find problems and implement solutionsEnsure stock is securely wrapped/strapped and stored adequately to ensure no damageCheck that stock areas are clean and tidyWork with Goods In function to resolve delivery and stock queriesHave a flexible approach to the roleBe responsible and available for the monthly stock checks, completing and sending the required reportsAttend meetings as and when required
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
Extensive Stock Management experience in print or manufacturing sectorValid FLT licenceStrong understanding of stock control management, requirements and dynamicsExperienced and knowledgeable of stock management systemsProven track record of implementing improved and robust processesAble to establish strong working relationships across different departmentsAnalytical and literateExcellent communication skillsCapable of working on own and part of a teamAbility to give instructions and delegateSelf motivatedProficiency in inventory software and good general IT competence
