Software Delivery Manager – Agile Transformation Leader in Manchester (Hybrid, 2 days in office). Drive transformation, lead a talented team, and shape the delivery of mission-critical software at scale for a national organisation advancing society through technology. Following rapid growth through acquisitions, the organisation operates several software verticals, each as its own business unit but united by a forward-looking technology division. This role offers real challenge, variety, and opportunity for career growth across different teams. You will take ownership of a high-profile integration platform and lead a squad of around ten people — including developers, testers, analysts, architects and a product team.This is a chance to make a measurable difference by unblocking delivery, embedding agile ways of working, and supporting critical projects underpinning some of the UK’s most important digital services.What You’ll Do
Lead a cross-functional squad delivering complex integrations (120+ connections between core systems and third parties).Drive agile transformation — progressing a team from -50% maturity toward -80% through coaching, consistency, and cultural change.Focus on two key delivery outcomes: velocity (more work completed, faster) and cycle time (shorter time from start to finish).Identify and remove blockers across the lifecycle — from requirements and testing through to environments and third-party dependencies.Play a visible leadership role in shaping delivery culture, sitting on the divisional leadership team.Oversee critical projects such as replacing legacy systems that support training for 45,000 external associates each year.About You
A proven
delivery leader : proactive, quick-thinking, engaging, and able to energise those around you.Strong background in
software delivery , with solid understanding of testing, requirements, architecture, and environments.Hands-on experience with
Agile
