About the employer and context: Mindshare is part of WPP Media. This role supports a growing team within Mindshare Channels and Solutions, focusing on SEO strategy and execution (on-page and off-page) for multiple brands.
Role Summary and ImpactThe
SEO Account Director
will have day-to-day ownership of client engagements, SEO processes, and execution. You will help lead and manage the SEO Account Executives and Account Managers, shaping the global SEO strategy across content, technical, and outreach, in collaboration with the Business Director.
Responsibilities
Organic Search Management: oversee development and creation of organic search best practices; ensure adherence and effective oversight of designated organic and holistic search strategies.
Develop in-depth knowledge of organic search and stay informed about the broader media landscape.
Actively generate client-related case studies and seek opportunities for awards, elevating the team within the industry.
Report on client performance and share learnings with the Channels and Solutions group quarterly, evolving agency best practices accordingly.
Make continuous strategic and optimisation recommendations; coordinate with specialists and local teams to implement them.
Coordinate with account teams and market leads to ensure cross-team integration and WoW consistency across organic and paid channels.
Provide updates on innovation and industry changes to senior leadership and line managers.
Delivering Client Performance
Support the BD in creating and maintaining account roadmaps for clients, including testing and growth initiatives.
Identify and source technology following best practices; report to BD with actionable insights.
Work with BD and wider team to drive consistent performance improvements and share learnings across the group.
Deliver best-in-class Organic Search approaches rooted in the Mindshare best practice framework; raise barriers to the Organic Search lead as needed.
Develop strong client relationships and lead team communications to understand and meet business needs.
Share industry insights with the wider group through sessions and workshops.
Support BD in presentations and lead sessions/meetings when required.
Contribute to the offering by collaborating with leadership to deliver the best possible client service.
Provide advisory input on opportunities and risks from a business perspective.
Nurture relationships with key decision-makers alongside BD to help navigate significant business changes.
Developing Our Product
Work with the Head of/Partner Organic Search and senior leadership to develop roadmaps for the Organic Search product and differentiate the offering.
Help create a strong recruitment experience to secure top talent.
Support development of Channels and Solutions Paid Search product and contribute to New Business and cross-sell opportunities (e.g., with IBM).
Contribute to New Business templates and resources for pitches.
Raising Our Profile
Build and maintain relationships with Clients and Client Leads; provide strategic guidance with BD to grow the business.
Highlight and share great work; regularly create case studies.
Enter industry awards and develop POVs on industry developments.
Represent Mindshare at key industry events and share thought leadership in Organic Search.
Collaborate with HR and other leads to position the Channels and Solutions story with recruiters.
Develop Mindshare Channels and Solutions profile through training, presentations, and communications.
Support leadership with updates on innovation and industry changes.
Inspiring Our People

Engage senior clients through QBRs and proactive projects.
Maintain talent mapping and career development plans for direct reports.
Update the team on live initiatives, performance, and opportunities; maintain open communication with leadership.
Collaborate with BD and HR to develop training plans and address skill gaps.
Lead with vision and values, championing positive change; manage workloads and SLAs for junior team members.
Support capacity planning and recruitment for the team; share developments to promote standardization of processes.
Communicate clearly with stakeholders via email, chat, video, and in-person; lead presentations as needed.
Driving Our Process
Take the lead on one or more integration projects and support others.
Develop and maintain onboarding processes for new starters.
Continuously review optimization, budget management, task management, testing, and other processes to identify efficiency gains.
Develop ways of working that maximize client output while minimizing operational input and align with group best practices.
Ensuring Our Profitability
Collaborate with Ad Directors to manage client resource allocations and reporting with BD.
Support and contribute to new business pitches as needed by leadership.
Be commercially driven, identifying opportunities to develop incremental or new services centrally and locally.

Demonstrated experience in SEO and Owned Asset Optimisation
Experience in creating global scalable strategies
Advanced competency in technical SEO
Experience integrating SEO with paid digital channels
Strong numeracy and data analysis skills with actionable insights
Strong project management and organisational skills
Experience managing SEO executives
Client relationship skills including presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communications; able to present to clients and stakeholders
Strong troubleshooting skills for technical and operational issues
Ability to communicate process-driven approaches to non-technical audiences
Proficiency in Google Analytics and Tag Manager
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, Lumar, BrightEdge, etc.
Desirable: Experience building Looker Studio reports
Paid search experience and holistic search strategies
Experience building deliverable templates for the team
Proven success in leading digital teams
Language skills (if applicable)
