Job Title: Freelance Site Manager Location: Guildford, Surrey Duration: 12 Months About the Role We are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee a major new-build residential development in Guildford. This high-profile project consists of over 150 units, featuring a mix of modern houses and apartments. As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for driving the day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage sub-contractors, coordinate materials, and oversee the progression of works from initial stages through to internals, finishing, and handovers. Key Responsibilities Site Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations on site, ensuring trade contractors work efficiently to meet the construction programme. Health and Safety: Maintain stringent health, safety, and environmental standards, conducting regular site inductions, tool-box talks, and risk assessments. Quality Control: Monitor the quality of workmanship closely, managing the snagging and de-snagging process to deliver flawless handovers. Reporting: Work closely with the visiting Contracts Manager to report on progress, milestones, and any logistical challenges. Subcontractor Management: Coordinate weekly sub-contractor meetings, resolving any design, material, or labor dependencies swiftly.
