A fantastic opportunity to work for a leading main contractor in the defence sector as their Senior Quantity Surveyor. Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in their career or an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a new opportunity.The role of Senior QS will be delivering a number of new projects across the defence base at Larkhill, with no 2 days the same. This is a role which will require enthusiasm for large and small projects covering demolition, construction, refurbs, civils, etc.Progression is definitely available and always promoted within the team. With a healthy pipeline of projects and ongoing investment into the defence sector, you will have opportunities to continually develop your skills.Working within the Capital Projects Team at our Larkhill Project Office, you will be responsible for the commercial delivery of various capital projects within a military estate. You will lead on the commercial aspects for your projects from pre-construction activities through to the agreement of final accounts. You will support the team in the maintenance of robust cost and revenue forecast.Hybrid Working 3 days on site - 2 days at home per week.Responsibilities

Visit sites and carry out surveys as necessary to assist the Pre-construction Team in the preparation of pricing schedules, specifications, and scopes of works.Liaise with the Procurement Team through the tender process and assist in the analysis of tender submissions and preparation of Joint Recommendations.Produce cost plans, estimates and formal Client submissions for your projects.Provision of necessary information to Central Commercial and Finance Teams.Provision of commercial and contractual advice to the Project Team.Visit sites and carry out surveys as necessary to assess the progress of works to validate supply chain invoices and requests for payment.Review Supply Chain quotations and variations to ensure value for money.Administration of project instructions and the management of contingency and risk budgets.Administration of Supply Chain orders and payments in a timely manner.Ensure projects are commercially managed in full compliance with company policies and procedures.Mentor and develop junior members of the Commercial Team.You should have a degree in Quantity Surveying and/or membership of a relevant professional body, such as the RICS.Full UK driving licence.Possess good competency in using Microsoft Office software and an aptitude to learn to work with other bespoke systems.In addition to being a commercial thinker who is flexible and pragmatic, essential skills should include:Commercial awareness across all business operations coupled with financial acumen.Negotiate a fair outcome within budgetary and time constraints.Work independently and as part of a team.Plan and prioritise activities and close out in a timely manner.High attention to detail with the ability to produce consistent high quality work within acceptable timescales.If interested please reach out asap to ..... full job details .....
