We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team within Vistry Bristol, at our site in Salisbury, Wiltshire. As our Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will work within our wider Commercial, Estimating and Buying team, and you will be responsible for supervising, managing and advising on the financial and contractual aspects of multiple construction projects. You will take responsibility for the execution of the Quantity Surveying function on allocated contract/s, in order to fulfil the requirements of the Company in maximising quality of service and profitability. You will provide a range of cost control and financial reporting duties across all aspects of construction work undertaken by the company.What’s in it for you

Be active in the recruitment of new starters to the team and then throughout the employee life cycle, including holding development reviews and succession planning exercisesWork closely with other departments, attend design meetings to advise on cost implicationsRecognise and advise Site Managers on delays, extensions of time and loss and/or expense, ensuring relevant notices are issuedAttend development meetings, contract pre-start and subcontract package review meetingsCheck contract drawings for errors, omissions, anomalies and areas where unnecessary cost may ariseAssist in preparing tender lists and procurement programmesDistribute design information packages and tender drawings, prepare tender documentation and lettersPrepare construction cost analyses and analyse quotations from tendersAssess site staffing levels and build programmes with the Construction Director to estimate preliminary costsArrange and adjudicate budget settlement meetings with the wider Commercial teamPrepare stage payment schedules to aid in financing the worksCarry out pre-order meetings with Health and Safety requirements and finalize tender sums and stage payment schedulesPlace subcontractor orders, interview and reference-check subcontractors, and negotiate contract sums within budgetIssue variation orders and develop cost advice on major variationsCheck and reconcile costs posted to each contract and provide monthly cost analysisCheck and arrange subcontractor payments, obtain authorisation, and agree final accountsPrepare documents for external valuations with the client''s agentKeep RAMS schedule updated and issued to relevant partiesComplete subcontract orders in line with site build requirements and Group PolicySet up and review PPQA tick sheets for subcontract work paymentsProvide forecast and site budget information to meet reporting requirementsControl and report post-contract cost movements monthly and maintain site reportsReview professional fee provisions and statutory service costs with the technical departmentEnsure invoices and payments are processed in accordance with contract termsMaintain site reserve lists and related reportingLiaise with the technical department to secure site adoptions and miscellaneous ordersComplete formal site close-down procedures in line with Group PolicyAssist the Commercial Director/Manager to ensure proper financial controls on sites and that sub-contract payments are processed correctlyAbout Us
