SEN Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the DE24 area of Derby, who are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for the new academic year. The school has a caring and inclusive ethos and is committed to providing every child with the support they need to thrive both academically and socially.

The school is looking to take on a part-time Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis from September. The successful Teaching Assistant will work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 2 pupil with Autism / ASD, supporting engagement, communication and learning throughout the morning sessions, Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 12:30pm.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children with Autism / ASD
• Previous experience supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis within a primary school setting
• A good understanding of Key Stage 1 / KS1 learning and development
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
