My client is looking to recruit an experienced, talented and ambitious RISK MANAGER to help the business to develop and embed its risk management framework, working with senior leadership to identify and manage risks within business appetite.
All potential candidates should read through the following details of this job with care before making an application.The successful incumbent will be expected to embed a strong risk culture, with a focus on regulatory, operational and conduct risks.Key Role Responsibilities:Support the process of embedding the risk management framework in line with FCA expectations and industry best practices, promoting a strong risk-aware culture throughout the organisation, including training and awareness sessionsPrepare high quality and robust reporting for the Risk Committee and Board of DirectorsOversee operational risk management processes, including incident and breach reporting, root cause analysis, and remediation trackingMaintain and update the risk registers, keeping a detailed and robust audit trailMonitor and report on key risk indicators (KRIs), testing adherence and the suitability of the KRI thresholds as the business develops and growsAssess external risks to the business, documenting them for discission at the risk committeeLiaise with risk owners, action owners and other key stakeholders to conduct regular risk and control assessments, ensuring robust mitigation plans are in placeEnsure compliance with relevant FCA rules and guidance, including but not limited to: SYSC, the Principles for Businesses, ICOBS and the Consumer DutyProvide independent risk oversight of key business initiatives and change programmesWork closely with Compliance to coordinate risk and compliance monitoring activitiesAssist in regulatory reporting and liaison with the FCA on risk-related mattersKey Skills and Experience Required:Proven experience in a risk management role within the UK General Insurance sectorDeep understanding of the FCA’s regulatory framework and expectations, especially SMandCR, Consumer Duty, ICOBS, SYSC, DISP and conduct risk principlesStrong understanding of enterprise risk management concepts, including operational, regulatory, conduct, reputational, and strategic risksExperience in managing governance processes, including reporting to boards and committeesExceptional communication skills; ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholdersAnalytical mindset with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skillsExcellent report writing skills and proficiency in data analysisFamiliarity with FCA reporting or experience interacting with the regulatorProject risk management experience, involvement in transformation programmes, MandA, or regulatory change programmes will be beneficialTo express an interest, please click ''Apply'' or for further information, please contact Terry Wetters (Founder / Director): 07891 708 941 / ..... full job details .....
