An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join a major engineering organisation delivering work on one of the UK''s most significant infrastructure and energy projects.

This is not a traditional QA/QC position. Instead, you''ll play a key role in developing governance processes, improving quality performance, driving organisational learning, supporting audit programmes and helping embed a positive Nuclear Safety Culture across a major project environment.

Working closely with operational teams, senior managers and project stakeholders, you''ll help ensure quality requirements are understood, implemented and continuously improved while contributing to the successful delivery of a nationally important programme.

The role combines hybrid working, project engagement and stakeholder interaction, offering genuine variety and long-term career development.

The Role

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will support the development, implementation and continual improvement of the project''s Quality Management System (QMS).

You will be responsible for supporting governance activities, audit programmes, quality training, lessons learned initiatives and continuous improvement projects, helping ensure client, statutory and business requirements are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the management and continual improvement of the Project Quality Management System (QMS)
• Deliver and support Nuclear Safety Culture initiatives across the project
• Provide quality-related training and awareness sessions to project personnel
• Conduct internal audits and produce detailed audit reports highlighting trends and improvement opportunities
• Track audit actions and corrective measures through to successful completion
• Facilitate lessons learned workshops and improvement activities
• Analyse quality performance data and identify opportunities for process improvement
• Support the implementation of governance and assurance processes
• Ensure quality requirements are communicated and embedded throughout project teams
• Monitor the effectiveness of quality systems and governance arrangements
• Produce reports and performance information for management teams
• Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across operational and support functions
• Support wider business improvement initiatives and quality objectives

Requirements

• HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
• Experience within Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, Quality Systems, Governance or Assurance environments
• Internal Auditor or Assessor qualification to ISO 9001:2015 standard
• Experience supporting Quality Management Systems and audit programmes
• Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and quality principles
• Experience analysing information, identifying trends and driving improvements
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to obtain BPSS security clearance

Desirable Experience

-Experience within nuclear or another highly regulated industry
-Major project, EPC or infrastructure experience
-Continuous Improvement and process mapping expertise
-Quality training or workshop facilitation experience
-Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Culture principles
-Experience supporting Integrated Management Systems (IMS)
-Knowledge of UK and international quality standards and codes of practice
