Outreach Tutor - St Helens



The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching is recruiting committed Outreach Tutors to support children and young people across St Helens through flexible 1:1 tuition.

This role involves working with learners who may be accessing alternative provision, awaiting a school placement or experiencing barriers to mainstream education. You''ll deliver tailored tuition while helping students rebuild confidence, develop positive learning habits and achieve meaningful educational progress.

• Location: St Helens

• Position: Outreach Tutor

• Hours: 5-15 hours per week (flexible)

• Start Date: September 2026

• Duration: Ongoing

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or mentoring

• Experience supporting learners with SEND, SEMH or those who are disengaged from education

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred)

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK

• Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one

• Provide two professional child-related references
