Prospero Teaching are searching for experienced Outreach Tutors to work with young people across St Helens!

The Opportunity

We are currently looking for dedicated tutors, teachers and mentors to provide 1:1 tuition to learners who may be unable to access mainstream education.

The young people we support may be awaiting a school placement, accessing alternative provision or experiencing barriers to engaging with education.

Alongside delivering academic tuition, you will play an important role in developing trust, encouraging confidence and helping learners take positive steps towards re-engaging with education.

Position Details:

Location: St Helens
Position: Outreach Tutor
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

Experience working with children or young people
Previous teaching, tutoring or mentoring experience
Experience supporting SEND, SEMH or disengaged learners
QTS or equivalent desirable
A patient, flexible and creative approach

To be eligible for this role, you must:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the Update Service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child-related references
