Overview

Operations and Commercial Director, Core Banking at Monzo Bank. Location: London, UK. Salary: £130,000 - £165,000 + share options. This role is part of the Core Banking collective, responsible for how Monzo’s 12 million personal customers experience their accounts and related value propositions.Responsibilities

Owning the planning process for Core Banking: lead business planning, collective goals, half-yearly planning, budget and headcount planning, and goal setting cycles.Tracking performance: monitor the effectiveness of initiatives, work with finance and data partners to review product and commercial data and analyses, and adapt strategies to stay on track.Operationalising strategy and priorities: partner with operations, fincrime/fraud, marketing, risk and compliance, and product teams across Core Banking and wider Monzo to connect activities and interdependencies (e.g. payments).Ensuring rigorous commercial processes/outcomes: collaborate with the GM and collective leaders to maintain robust commercial strategy and processes that drive the right outcomes.Governance and risk management: work with first-line partners to enable product squads while evaluating and managing risks and controls, scaling processes safely for Monzo and customers.Lead a team of product operations specialists: manage and grow a small but capable team.Qualifications

You have a flexible strategic mind: able to see the bigger picture, break it into actionable steps to operationalise quickly.You can connect the dots across the business and foster collaboration.You have strong operational experience in a scaling consumer business, in terms of PandL, team size, and impact over several years.You have experience leading and scaling teams.You have excellent attention to detail and can manage multiple processes in parallel with high quality standards.You are data-oriented and risk-focused: use data to inform decisions and consider risks and mitigations.You are a great communicator: adapt messaging for different audiences (Product, Operations, Senior Leaders, etc.).You possess strong commercial acumen and data literacy with a track record of analysing trends and insights to inform decisions.You demonstrate ownership and a proactive, hustle mindset to get things done.You can balance conflicting priorities when making decisions, considering stakeholders’ needs and capacity.What’s In It For You
