What you will do
In this vital role you will conceptualise, design, conduct, interpret and publish observational research supporting drug development programmes and regulatory submissions, aiding our mission to serve patients. You will employ your epidemiology skills to support a key Amgen rare disease program.Implement and lead descriptive epidemiologic studies to characterize the incidence/prevalence of disease in US, EU, Asia, and emerging market countriesLead research projects involving the analysis of multiple types of data including medical claims, electronic health records, and prospective observational cohort studiesWork cross-functionally with internal stakeholders, such as clinical development, regulatory, medical affairs and HEOR, on CfOR research projects and collaborationsProvide safety research support across the life cycle of Amgen products, support the development of risk management plans, and drive pharmacovigilance studiesConduct literature reviews and prepare research reports and scientific manuscriptsStay abreast of the latest developments in this field and drug developmentPromote awareness, understanding, and use of observational research methodsCommunicate significant scientific information to a variety of audiencesBe part of our team
You will be joining the rare disease therapeutic/product facing team within Amgen''s Center for Observational Research (CfOR), a global organization with an industry-leading analytical capability that generates RWE to support business needs across a product’s lifecycle.WIN
What we expect of you

What we seek in you as an experienced professional, are these qualifications and skills:Degree educated in Epidemiology or other subject with high observational research contentPrevious experience designing, executing and analysing observational research studies within Pharmaceutical or Public Health settingPrevious experience working with secondary data systems, including administrative claims, EMR and registries, as well as with real world data and multi-disciplinary teamsExperience in research project planning and management, stakeholder management and project administrationExcellent communication skills and ability to communicate scientific evidence to peers and at meetingsPrevious rare disease, neuromuscular disease, autoimmune disorders'' experience is a plusTHRIVE
