Location : Filton (60-80% On Site with occasional travel to Newport, South Wales)

Contract Duration: 7 Months

Role Overview

Belcan are currently supporting one of their clients with their search for a structured Minor Works Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of small-to-medium capital and operational projects across their regional estate. You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery-from initial feasibility through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning-for multiple concurrent projects up to -100,000 in value.

This role spans diverse operational environments, including commercial office spaces, high-tech industrial facilities, and secure infrastructure. You will ensure all projects are

executed safely, within budget, on schedule, and in full compliance with UK statutory standards and site security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Delivery & Management: Lead a concurrent portfolio of minor works projects (individual values up to -100k) across Filton, Bristol, and Newport, ensuring adherence to COM 2015 regulations, building control, and internal quality metrics.
• Stakeholder & Operational Liaison: Partner with internal clients, facility managers, and site operational teams to minimize disruption to live environments during works execution.
• Commercial & Financial Control: Manage project finances, including scope definition, contractor tendering, cost estimation, budget tracking, change control, and final account settlements.
• Supply Chain Management: Supervise external consultants, specialist M&E subcontractors, and main contractors-enforcing strict performance, safety, and quality control standards.
• Health, Safety, & Compliance: Act as Principal Designer/Principal Contractor manager under COM where required. Oversee site safety files, method statements (RAMS), permits to work, and site induction procedures.
• Multi-Site Coordination: Maintain a structured presence across the Filton, Bristol, and Newport facilities, establishing uniform project delivery processes across all locations.

Education & Certification

NVQ L3/HNC/HND or

Degree in Building Services, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Facilities Management.

APM/PMI qualification, MAPM status, or Prince2 Practitioner certification.

H&S Standards

Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or SMSTS I SSSTS certified.

NEBOSH, IOSH Managing Safely or formal CDM Coordinator training.

Experience

Experience managing minor works or building services projects in live commercial or industrial environments.

Experience operating within defense,aerospace,or highly secure regulated manufacturing sectors.

Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC) - must meet standard UK nationality/residency eligibility requirements for Newport site access.

Active UK SC Clearance.

Key Competencies & Personal Attributes

• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of building services (HVAC, electrical distribution, public health) and fabric maintenance/refurbishment techniques.
• Agility & Multitasking: Proven capability to juggle 10-20 fast-turnaround, low-complexity projects simultaneously across 2 sites.
• Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for reporting directly to senior leadership (HO TFS).
• Mobility: Valid UK Driving License and flexibility to travel between Filton, Bristol, and Newport on a weekly basis.
