Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We''re looking for Mentors to support learners aged 4-18 across Lymington who may be permanently excluded (PEX) or at risk of exclusion.
About the Role:
Mentoring is a powerful provision that helps young people:
- Build confidence and self-esteem
- Develop positive relationships with trusted adults
- Re-engage with education and learning
- Explore hobbies and interests that bring joy and purpose
Each young person is unique, and the level of input required will vary. Some may need regular sessions, while others benefit from short-term support during key transitions.
As a Mentor you will:
- Provide 1:1 mentoring tailored to the learner''s needs
- Support emotional wellbeing and personal development
- Encourage participation in activities such as sports, arts, gaming, or outdoor adventures
- Help learners prepare for reintegration into education settings
About you:
- Experience working with young people (formal or informal)
- Empathetic, patient, and adaptable personality
- Ability to build trust and rapport with learners from diverse backgrounds
- Passionate about inclusion and positive change

Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both
Hours - 10 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time with additional tuition opportunities
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
Trauma-informed and skilled in de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies- Desirable
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
