ervice Manager (Safe Spaces)Purpose of the Job:Working as part of the Crisis Alternatives services, particularly Safe Spaces, MAST and the Acute Liaison Psychiatric Service (ALPS) teams you will work across teams to offer follow-up support. You will be part of the Safe Spaces team and be based with the ALPS and MAST teams working closely to offer a follow-up contact to individuals who have attended AandE in Bradford due to mental distress or crisis.This role will work closely with the ALPS offering a wellbeing follow-up call within 7 days from psychiatric assessment in AandE. You will be supporting people who have feelings of mental distress or crisis, with ideation or intent to self-harm and suicidality. You will be supporting individuals to access other services, such as Safe Spaces as appropriate.This is a pilot role for 12months to offer a new service to people who attend AandE due to mental health crisis.Main Duties
Provide wellbeing telephone support sessions to individuals who have had a psychiatric liaison assessment due to mental health crisis and attending AandE.Work in a recovery-focused and person-centred way, which builds confidence and helps people to move forward.Review progress since assessment in AandE, including updating and escalating risks as necessary.Review and adapt safety plan agreed by ALPS during assessment as required.Offer signposting to relevant services that can support individuals, including but not limited to Safe Spaces, Wellbeing Hubs, Healthy Minds Services.Ensure that client notes are recorded in an accurate and timely manner and kept updated.Maintain accurate records of service activity, ensuring data is accurate, up-to-date and easily accessible for reporting and analysis.Work in line with all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring concerns are escalated appropriately.Work closely with other health and social care professionals including statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure that support is joined up and of high quality.Values and Behaviours
