Overview

We are seeking candidates who are motivated to ensure high-quality early intervention work is provided for children, young people and families across Leeds. This is an opportunity to join the MindMate Support Team (MMST) and contribute to improving mental health and wellbeing across the city. We are recruiting Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (TEMHPs). These are development posts; after successful completion of training, you will progress to Pay Band 5, subject to agreement with your current University.Funding has been expanded to grow the team, with a Health Education England (HEE) funded place to train at the University of Sheffield in delivering Low Intensity Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (LI-CBT) and Whole Setting Approach (WSA) initiatives within education settings.This opportunity is driven by efforts to transform Young People’s Mental Health by focusing on early intervention.Responsibilities

Work within a clinical team to ensure mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing support is provided.Collaborate with education settings in assemblies, workshops, groups and staff training, supporting with Whole Setting Approach (WSA) initiatives related to Mental Health.Manage your own workload independently with supervisor support within the clinical area.Support the assessment of children and young people (CYP) and implement programmes of care, ensuring practice within your sphere of competence and knowledge.Under supervision, develop knowledge and practice skills to deliver evidence-based interventions for CYP in education settings with mild to moderate mental health difficulties.Help CYP in settings who present with more severe problems to access more specialist services.Support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and manage mental health and wellbeing issues, playing a pivotal role in developing and delivering whole setting/school approach work.Training and Development

Place funded by Health Education England (HEE) to train at the University of Sheffield in LI-CBT and WSA delivery.Post-training progression to Pay Band 5, subject to successful completion of the training period as agreed with your University.Working for Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust
