Marketing Officer

One of my local goverment clients is seeking a Marketing Officer to join its dedicated Communications Team. In this vital role, you ll be at the forefront of managing the Council''s external media presence, promoting key events, and ensuring high-quality engagement with the public through press releases, social media, and digital content. Key Responsibilities: Lead on identifying proactive communication opportunities for external media coverage. Create, publish, and distribute press releases, social media content, and videos. Maintain a forward plan across media channels and manage timely responses to media queries. Monitor and manage online engagement, including responding to social media comments. Support daily website maintenance, media inboxes, and community updates. Requirements: Proven experience in marketing, communications, or PR (preferably within local government or public sector). Strong written communication and copywriting skills. Experience managing media responses and creating multimedia content. Confident working both independently and collaboratively.
