Machine Shop Dimensional Inspector

Hours: 38 hours per week Double Day Shift Rotating

-15.22 per hour with 8.75 hour shift allowance

The inspector role will be required to supervise trainees and apprentices. You must be a time served apprentice, with a minimum of 2 years experience working as an Inspector.

The purpose of your role is to ensure that components are inspected fully and confirmed as conforming or non-conforming to the customer drawings and specifications.

Help make the Machine Shop operations run efficiently by conducting quality inspection of the machined product from a dimensional and visual perspective using various methods, techniques and equipment in accordance with ISO9001 quality standards at various stages.

Requirements:

  • Must have min 2 years experience in an inspection environment preferably in manufacturing.
  • Time served apprenticeship with an appropriate craft or technical qualification. (preferable).
  • Working flexible shifts.
  • Able to read complex engineering drawings and ability to recognise GD&T symbols.
  • Use of conventional measuring equipment and can work electronic measuring arm.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own and make decisions.
  • Thorough/logical approach.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Maths & analytical skills.

Accountabilities:

  • All measuring equipment is within calibration requirements
  • Data and information is recorded & entered into the business systems correctly.
  • Non-conformances are identified, recorded & communicated to the business.
  • Ensure that data provided is 100% reliable and accurate.
