Machine Shop Manager

Our client are a small precision engineering company based in Birmingham. Established for over 70 years, this family run business have been successfully involved in low volume/prototype manufacturing parts to a variety of industries. They employ 10 members of staff and offer both CNC and conventional machining.

Due to changes in the business they are now looking to recruit a Machine Shop Manager. You will have have worked in a similar capacity and are looking for a new challenge.

This is an excellent opportunity to take full ownership of a hands-on Production Manager role, overseeing a team of 7-CNC/Conventional machinists, driving day-to-day operations, and ensuring high standards across new-projects and modifications.

The Role

• Managing new jobs through to completion-
• Ordering materials and liaising with suppliers
• Dealing with customers
• Looking at business strategy
• Compliance
• Overseeing Health and Safety
• Working on Autocad when new jobs come in

The Candidate

• Production / Machine Shop Managerial experience
• High level experience-within a tooling OR machining environment
• Strong communicator with leadership or supervisory experience
