LHR Gateway & Warehouse General Manager

Overview

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced

Gateway and Warehouse Manager

to lead a high-performing warehouse team of 110 FTEs across complex shift patterns. This is a pivotal role focused on operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, regulated environment.Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of import/export airfreight and warehousing services.Build strong interdepartmental and external relationships with a focus on customer satisfaction.Act as Site Aviation Security Nominee and oversee Dangerous Goods by Air, CEIV Li-Bat, ADR, and GDP/MHRA compliance.Manage MHE maintenance, procurement, and supplier relationships.Drive a strong Health and Safety culture in collaboration with national HandS leadership.Maintain yard and warehouse standards in partnership with the Facility Manager.Design and produce data metrics to drive operational efficiencies.Champion continuous improvement and innovation through First Choice methodologies.Foster team engagement, communication, and accountability.Proven experience managing unionised teams in a freight forwarding or logistics environment.Strong knowledge of Aviation Security, Dangerous Goods by Air, ADR, and GDP/MHRA standards.Skilled in data analysis and metric creation to support decision-making.Experience managing PandL and challenging the status quo constructively.Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to engage at all levels.5-year full referencing, DBS Check, and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC).Dangerous Goods by Air training and awareness of ADR.Aviation Security Manager training and deep understanding of relevant legislation.Qualifications
