About the Role
Brockenhurst College has a fantastic opportunity for a Lecturer in Early Childhood and Health Studies to join their team on a part time, permanent basis. The department is expanding and seeks motivated and forward-thinking individuals to teach on the LEVEL 2 and LEVEL 3 Health studies pathways, with an opportunity to teach on early childhood if required from September 2024. Salary is competitive at £33,367 - £44,365 pro rata per annum (Unqualified teachers £26,436 to £33,367 pro rata per annum).As the Lecturer in Early Childhood and Health Studies, you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching and assist with the organisation of the College Childcare facilities and premises.Responsibilities
Teaching on courses as agreed with the Head of CurriculumActing as Course Leader, when requestedPreparing and marking student work, monitoring progress towards individual targets, keeping records, IV and providing timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriateWorking closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of studentsMaintaining the principles of inclusive learning, including support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities, extension resources/activities for higher-ability students, and general resources including the use of Information Learning TechnologyContributing to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum including blended learning approachesContributing to the teaching/learning resource bank including e-resources for the relevant subject/coursesMaintaining up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/courseRequirements / Qualifications
Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant subject area (Health, Paramedic Science, Social Work or Nursing)Excellent teaching or training skillsCurrent knowledge and understanding of developments in the Health SectorSupportive and positive approach to teaching and learningAbility to relate well to learners of all abilities and to assess learner needsBenefits
