An IT Support Technician is required to join a growing Digital team at the York head office of a leading UK technical training provider. Working within a small and collaborative team, you will provide practical day-to-day IT support while contributing to a variety of digital projects across the business. The role combines user support, hardware maintenance, account administration, fault diagnosis and quality assurance testing. You will support colleagues both in person and remotely and help ensure systems and equipment remain reliable, secure and up to date. Occasional travel to the company''s Slough and Livingston locations will also be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture, manage and complete IT support tickets within agreed timescales.

  • Answer support calls and provide clear technical assistance to colleagues.

  • Deliver remote desktop support and resolve user issues efficiently.

  • Research, quote and order suitable IT hardware, software and equipment.

  • Update and maintain IT equipment, devices and network infrastructure.

  • Diagnose hardware, software and connectivity faults and recommend practical solutions.

  • Complete hardware maintenance, repairs and upgrades when required.

  • Create, update and manage user accounts across a range of business systems.

  • Carry out quality assurance testing of new systems, updates and digital tools.

  • Deliver and collect equipment and supplies between teams and company locations.

Experience & Skills Required

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrate previous experience in an IT support, helpdesk or technical support role.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.

  • Organise workloads effectively and manage multiple support requests.

  • Possess practical experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments.

  • Understand computer hardware, peripherals, software and basic network support.

  • Research technical problems independently and recommend appropriate solutions.

  • Apply a logical and methodical approach to fault finding and diagnostics.

  • Work collaboratively within a small team and contribute to wider digital projects.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of Unix or Linux environments although this is desirable rather than essential.

  • Hold a full clean UK driving licence and be willing to travel occasionally.

This IT Support Technician position offers the opportunity to join a friendly and collaborative Digital team where your work will have a visible impact across the business. The role offers a salary of -27,500 per annum and a varied workload covering user support, equipment management, systems testing and wider digital projects. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:45am to 5:30pm and Friday from 8:45am to 5:00pm with a one-hour lunch break.

Salary :-27,500 per annum.

Location :--York, North Yorkshire with occasional travel to Slough and Livingston.
