One of our partner secondary schools in Sittingbourne are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Humanities Teacher to join their team on a full time, long term basis from September 2025. The Humanities departments are looking for someone who is committed and reliable and ideally looking to take on full teacher responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and creative lessons in Geography or History in line with the National Curriculum.
- Teach and support students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, including preparation for GCSE and A-Level exams.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, inspiring students to engage and achieve their potential.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with SEND.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain student focus and engagement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Support the school community, including occasional general cover when required.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Geography, History, or a related Humanities subject.
- Specialism in Geography or History, with a strong passion for Humanities education.
- Proven or developing experience teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Positive, adaptable, and motivated approach to teaching, with excellent classroom management skills.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
- Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level exams.
- Willingness to contribute to curriculum development and extracurricular activities.
- Openness to occasional general cover teaching when required.
