Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen in our Neurophysiology department for a highly motivated, confident individual to work in a first-of-its-kind role that combines the responsibilities of a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) with Administration, known as a Healthcare Administrative Support Worker (HCASW).As an HCASW, you will support the Clinical Neurophysiology Department in both patient assistance and administrative tasks. Under the guidance and supervision of both a registered nurse (RN), a Departmental Lead Clinical Scientist and a Service Manager, you will undertake a range of core clinical and administrative tasks.The clinical aspect of the role in the Neurophysiology department will include manual handling of patients before and after the diagnostic tests, acting as a chaperone, topping up consumables and maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in clinical rooms and waiting areas.The administrative aspect of the role will include reception duties with checking in and checking out of patients on Cerner, making any pertinent notes on the system and conveying relevant messages promptly to administrative and clinical staff.As the first point of contact for our patients, you are expected to hold the highest standards of customer and patient care in adherence to the Trust values.Main duties / Responsibilities
Maintain a professional appearance in line with the Trust professional appearance policy and infection control policy.Uphold the Trust''s values and behaviours and behave in a manner fitting with the responsibility this brings to maintain the public confidence.Maintain professional and courteous working relationships with staff, patients and families, and respect the equality and diversity of each and every person they come into contact with.Exchange factual information with patients using a variety of methods to help patients understanding, supporting Clinicians and Administrators in providing health promotion/education.Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others.To undertake training relevant to the post.To maintain patient confidentiality at all times and follow information governance policies and procedures.Details
