An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Neurophysiology department for a highly motivated, confident individual to work in a first-of-its-kind role that combines the responsibilities of a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) with Administration, known as a Healthcare Administrative Support Worker (HCASW).As an HCASW, you will support the Clinical Neurophysiology Department in both patient assistance and administrative tasks. Under the guidance and supervision of both a registered nurse (RN), a Departmental Lead Clinical Scientist and a Service Manager, you will undertake a range of core clinical and administrative tasks.Responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities: manual handling of patients before and after diagnostic tests, acting as a chaperone, topping up consumables and maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in clinical rooms and waiting areas.Administrative responsibilities: reception duties with checking in and checking out of patients on Cerner, making pertinent notes on the system and conveying relevant messages promptly to administrative and clinical staff.Act as the first point of contact for patients, upholding the highest standards of customer and patient care in line with Trust values.Maintain professional appearance in line with the Trust professional appearance policy and infection control policy.Uphold the Trust’s values and behaviours and conduct yourself in a manner that maintains public confidence.Maintain professional and courteous working relationships with staff, patients and families, and respect equality and diversity.Exchange factual information with patients using a variety of methods to help patient understanding, supporting Clinicians and Administrators in providing health promotion/education.Develop own skills and knowledge and contribute to the development of others.Undertake training relevant to the post and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with information governance policies and procedures.Requirements and Work Environment
