Are you passionate about creating safer workplaces and driving continuous improvement?

We''re looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor based in Lanark to join a busy industrial site, supporting operational teams in maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and compliance. This is a hands-on role where you''ll work closely with site leadership, helping to develop a positive safety culture while ensuring compliance with UK legislation and recognised management systems.



The Role

As the site''s Health & Safety Advisor, you''ll be responsible for:

  • Providing expert health and safety advice to site management and operational teams.
  • Promoting a positive behavioural safety culture across the site.
  • Supporting and maintaining ISO 45001 health and safety management systems.
  • Leading and participating in internal audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Chairing Health & Safety meetings and producing regular performance reports.
  • Managing contractor safety, inductions and compliance.
  • Carrying out routine site inspections and monitoring health and safety performance.
  • Supporting major maintenance shutdowns and ensuring safe execution of planned work.
  • Liaising with external bodies and supporting regulatory compliance where required.


About You

You''ll ideally have:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum).
  • Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, power generation, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Incident investigation experience (desirable).
  • Internal auditing experience or auditing qualification (advantageous).
  • Membership of a recognised Health & Safety professional body is beneficial.
