Are you an experienced and inspiring educational leader ready to shape an innovative learning environment and make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people? 

We are excited to be opening a brand-new, Ofsted-registered alternative education provision, and are looking for an exceptional Head of Education to lead its development and ongoing success. This is a unique opportunity to establish a high-quality educational setting from the ground up, creating a nurturing, ambitious and inclusive environment where children and young people can thrive.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the provision, ensuring outstanding educational outcomes and maintaining compliance with Ofsted and independent school standards.

Our provision will support children and young people aged 7-17 with a range of needs, such as SEND, SEMH and SEBD. We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and visionary leader who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to delivering exceptional outcomes for every learner.

Location: Nottinghamshire

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 Per annum (DOE)

Working Pattern: 40 hours per week. Flexible, not aligned to standard UK term times.

What We’re Looking For

· An inspirational and experienced educational leader with a passion for inclusive and alternative education.

· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) or another recognised UK teaching qualification

· Leadership experience within an educational setting

· Someone with experience of working with children and young people with SEND, SEMH, behavioural needs and complex presentations.

· A creative thinker who can engage students through alternative learning approaches

· A strategic thinker with the ability to establish and develop a high-quality educational provision.

· Strong relationship-builder with patience, empathy, and resilience.

· Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

· A thorough understanding and commitment to safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of children.

Requirements

· Must have the right to work in the UK

· Must be able to speak and understand English to a good standard for effective communication, record-keeping and safeguarding the wellbeing of those you will be supporting.

· Willingness to travel

· Please note – we do not currently hold a sponsorship licence and are therefore unable to offer visa sponsorship.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Providing strategic and operational leadership for the education provision.

· Leading the provision through Ofsted registration, inspection and ongoing regulatory compliance.

· Developing and implementing an engaging, inclusive and ambitious curriculum that needs the needs of learners.

· Monitoring teaching quality, learning outcomes and learner progress to ensure the highest standards of education.

· Working collaboratively with therapists, residential colleagues, families and external professionals to provide support for learners.

· Managing safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and wellbeing across the provision.

· Ensuring all policies, procedures and practices comply with statutory requirements and best practice.

· Supporting children and young people to achieve positive educational, social and emotional outcomes.

· Play a key role in the ongoing growth and development of the provision and part of our vision for outstanding education.

With a strong and established background in supported living adult services, we are proud to be expanding into Ofsted-registered children’s services and alternative education provision.

Our new education setting is designed to support young people ages 7-17 with a range of needs, including SEND, SEMH, SEBD and learning difficulties. We provide a flexible therapeutic approach to learning, recognising that education is not a one-size-fits-all. Through creative teaching, personalised pathways, and a focus on emotional wellbeing, we help young people re-engage with education and reach their full potential.
