GCSE tutor with SEN experience

About the Role:
You will be working on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing tailored academic support to students preparing for their GCSEs. Many of the learners will have Special Educational Needs (SEN), gaps in education, or require a more nurturing and flexible approach to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging and personalised GCSE-level lessons (core subjects preferred)
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual SEN and learning needs
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders
• Support students in developing confidence and independence in their learning

Requirements:

• Proven experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE curriculum
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
• Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging sessions
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

Desirable:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutoring experience
• Experience supporting vulnerable children, including those with SEMH needs or those who are looked after
