About the Role:
You will be working on a one-to-one or small group basis, providing tailored academic support to students preparing for their GCSEs. Many of the learners may have additional needs, gaps in education, or require a more nurturing and flexible approach to learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and personalised GCSE-level lessons (core subjects preferred)
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders
- Support students in developing confidence and independence in their learning
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of the GCSE curriculum
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
- Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging sessions
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
Desirable:
- Experience supporting vulnerable children, such as those with SEND, SEMH needs, or those who are looked after
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutoring experience
