We are currently recruiting for PIP and WCA Functional Assessors in Luton. These roles offer a fantastic opportunity to move into a structured assessment-based position with Monday–Friday working, no nights or weekends, fully paid training and excellent career progression.

The Roles as a PIP Functional Assessor, you will assess how an individual''s physical and/or mental health conditions affect their ability to carry out everyday activities and mobility.
As a WCA Functional Assessor, you will assess how an individual''s health conditions affect their functional ability and capacity for work and work-related activities.

In both roles, you will:

• Conduct telephone and face-to-face assessments.
• Take detailed clinical histories and ask structured questions.
• Assess the impact of physical, mental and cognitive health conditions.
• Review medical evidence, health questionnaires and supporting information.
• Apply your clinical reasoning and professional judgement.
• Produce accurate, objective and evidence-based reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

The DWP makes the final decision — your role is to provide an objective, evidence-based assessment.

Salary & Benefits:

• £45,000 increasing to £47,000 after 12 months (PIP)
• £48,000 increasing to £49,000 after 12 months (WCA)
• 5% bonus upon successful approval following training
• Up to 10% annual performance and quality bonus
• Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm
• No nights, weekends or bank holidays

No previous Functional Assessor experience is required.
You will receive a comprehensive 12-week fully paid training programme, covering:

• PIP and WCA assessment methodology
• DWP guidelines and requirements
• Clinical assessment techniques
• Evidence evaluation
• Clinical reasoning
• Report writing
• Functional assessment

You''ll receive ongoing support as you transition from your clinical role into your new position.

• Registered Adult Nurses
• Occupational Therapists

Candidates must have:

• A minimum of 1 year’s post-registration clinical experience
• Active professional registration
• Relevant adult clinical experience
• Strong communication and assessment skills
• Good IT and typing skills
• Confidence producing detailed written reports
