About the Role
A Food Technology Teacher is needed for a full-time role in Tamworth, starting immediately. This position, paying £168 to £232 per day, involves teaching small groups within an alternative provision. This is an exciting opportunity to teach Food Technology to small groups of students who require a more personalised approach to learning. The school supports young people who may have experienced barriers to education, helping them to rebuild confidence, develop practical skills and achieve positive outcomes.
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and hands-on lessons that encourage students to develop independence, creativity and essential life skills. You will work closely with a supportive team of teachers, teaching assistants and pastoral staff who are committed to helping every student succeed.
The school offers a nurturing environment, strong leadership and excellent support structures, allowing teachers to focus on delivering high-quality teaching and building positive relationships with students.
The Role:
- Teaching Food Technology to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
- Planning and delivering engaging, practical and differentiated lessons
- Supporting students who may have SEMH needs or barriers to learning
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Encouraging the development of practical cooking and life skills
- Monitoring and assessing student progress
- Working closely with pastoral teams and support staff
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Food Technology
- Strong behaviour management skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with young people
