Overview
We are seeking a high-calibre Financial Controller to be based in our Manchester office to lead the financial operations and reporting for the Group including UK and Ireland subsidiaries. The role requires a technically strong accountant with expertise in IFRS, group accounting, intercompany transactions, and a track record of process improvement and automation. The successful candidate will also oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) function to ensure operational excellence and strong internal controls in procure-to-pay processes. This is a critical leadership role, managing an established team of 9, which represents an important technical and operational function within the Arrow Group Finance team.Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRSOwn and maintain robust financial controls and policies, ensuring compliance with internal control frameworksOversee preparation and submission of statutory accounts and liaise with external auditorsEnsure compliance with accounting standards and ensure compliance with local regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., FCA)Liaise with third party outsourced service providers on timing and quality of submission of financial information relating to Group entitiesProvide strategic and operational oversight of the Accounts Payable function for UK and Ireland, ensuring critical KPIs are metLiaising with third party clients in Ireland, overseeing cash management and control, and working with operational areas to manage deliverables in support of servicing provisionOversight of intercompany transactions and financing arrangements, ensuring compliance with transfer pricing policies and alignment with Group consolidation processesSupport the tax team on corporate tax, VAT, and transfer pricing mattersChampion continuous improvement and lead automation initiatives in financial processes, controls, and systems and challenging the status quoWork with Director of Control and Reporting to advise on complex Group-level technical accounting issues e.g. business combinations, revenue recognition, impairments, restructurings etcLead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team, including accounting, reporting, and transactional finance staffAbout You
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)Strong technical accounting background in IFRS with experience in group accounting, intercompany transactions and eliminations, and technical accounting advisoryProven ability to drive process improvement, automation, and controls enhancement across finance functionsExperience overseeing or working closely with an Accounts Payable functionStrong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levelsFamiliarity with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft D365, Anaplan); advanced Excel; data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) desirable but not essentialDemonstrated success working in a large, complex, multinational organisation, preferably within asset management or financial servicesSeniority level
