Management of Engineering resources to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the company’s planned preventative maintenance scheme as well as responding to equipment faults and failures with the appropriate level of priority and ensuring the correct use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (Mainsaver) to capture all activity. Reporting to the Engineering Maintenance Manager, the Engineering Shift Manager must be able to support on-line fault finding and practical problem solving as well as the support of operations.Effective management of week-ahead and day-to-day planned preventative maintenance schedules.Evaluate in-day breakdown and work requests and assign priority and appropriate resource to ensure Production Downtime is kept to 2% or below.Work cross-functionally and across the Engineering team with appropriate communication to ensure priorities are understood and delivered and that there is effective escalation and reporting of issues through the MARA system.Ensure the correct application of safety standards and safe behaviours during the execution of maintenance activity.Assure the quality of delivered Maintenance and Repair activities.Ensure all shift activity is captured in the CMMS (Mainsaver). Identify continuous improvement opportunities and involvement in CI projects.Management of Direct Reports driving efficient and effective delivery of their roles, ensuring skills and competence are current and relevant, and development as part of succession planning.Ensure all engineering areas are maintained to the highest standards in line with GMP standards and that reports adhere to those standards.Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Apprentice Trained and Qualified Multi-skilled engineer with recognised Mechanical / Electrical Engineering qualification. City and Guilds minimum.Proven track record of Front-Line Management within an FMCG environment.Thorough understanding of PPM techniques.Strong desire to develop and coach team performance.Working knowledge of Legislative standards within the FMCG environment.High level of numeracy and ability to analyse and interpret data.Proactive approach to problem solving.Ability to identify and implement process improvements.Manufacturing systems experience.Management of financial budgets.Experience of Lean/continuous improvement environment.Ability to produce detailed Engineering and Process Risk assessments.Personal Attributes
