As a

Principal Fire Engineer , you’ll typically work on a variety of projects at once, from universities in Scotland to high-rise residential towers in London, including international projects. You will:Run through design information and liaise with other WSP disciplines (Facades, Acoustics, Structures).Present designs to local authorities and the Fire Service.Inform the design team about changes to increase the safety of the building.Be guided through software packages, fire standards, team briefings and client updates.You will be supported toward professional registration via IFE and other professional bodies. WSP offers a bespoke development programme for fire engineers to gain professional skills and technical development opportunities, including training in technical report writing, project management, communication, commercial concepts, and continuous improvement.Responsibilities

Engage with design information and cross-discipline coordination.Coordinate with authorities and stakeholders to secure compliance and safety.Contribute to the design team’s safety strategies and recommendations.Participate in ongoing professional development and chartership activities.Qualifications

BSc (BEng) or MSc (MEng) in Fire, Structural, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Experience within the fire engineering consulting industry.Role can be based from any of WSP’s UK major offices.What we offer
