Design Manager

Location: London / Hybrid with UK site travel
Salary: £65,000–£80,000 + package

About the Role
Our client is an innovative construction business specialising in the delivery of high-quality residential developments through modern methods of construction.
They work with local authorities, housing associations, developers and other stakeholders to deliver affordable, sustainable homes across the UK.
Due to an expanding pipeline of projects, they are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager with a strong residential construction background to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work on projects that combine traditional construction with modern modular and off-site construction methods.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead construction projects from pre-construction through to completion
• Take responsibility for programme, quality, cost and delivery
• Coordinate design, commercial and operational teams
• Manage consultants, contractors and supply chain partners
• Coordinate off-site manufacture with site-based construction activity
• Manage groundwork and enabling work packages
• Conduct regular site visits
• Monitor progress against programme
• Identify and resolve project issues
• Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with regulations
• Prepare project execution plans and delivery programmes
• Chair project meetings and coordinate actions
• Prepare regular project reports
• Maintain strong client relationships
• Support procurement and contractor appointments
• Monitor project budgets in conjunction with the commercial team
• Ensure quality standards are maintained through to handover

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within UK construction
• Strong residential construction experience is essential
• Experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion
• Experience with new-build residential projects
• Strong understanding of construction programmes and project delivery
• Experience managing contractors and supply chains
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and construction regulations
• Excellent client management and communication skills
• Strong organisational and problem-solving ability
• Experience with modular/MMC construction would be advantageous
• Construction-related degree/HND or equivalent experience
• CSCS
• SMSTS
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
