Tradewind are working with a successful secondary school in High Wycombe that is looking to welcome a proactive, reliable and regular Cover Supervisor from September 2025. This is a fantastic chance to gain hands-on classroom experience, maintain a work/life balance, and progress within the education sector - with full training and support provided!

Who is this role a perfect fit for?

  • QTS/ECT teachers seeking a more flexible, less demanding role
  • Experienced Cover Supervisor, tutor, instructor or those with child-based work experience

  • University graduates with a degree related to, or transferable to the education sector

  • Individuals from a youth, health & social care, wellbeing, coaching, or mentoring background

  • A professional with transferable experience as a positive role model to young people (e.g. - Police Officer)

What are the responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor?

  • Supervise pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher

  • Maintain classroom expectations and ensure students remain on task

  • Support pupils with their learning and report back on progress/conduct

  • Work across a range of subjects and year groups - every day is different!

  • Gain valuable experience and open doors to teacher training or support roles

What characteristics make a great educator?

  • Confidence speaking to and managing groups of young people (ages 11-18)

  • A patient, empathetic and professional approach to behaviour and learning

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Flexibility to adapt and support wherever required
