We now have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Mental Health team. The prison houses around 1500 men with a variety of health needs.HoursThis position is working 15 hours per week.SalaryYou’ll receive an annual salary of between £170,000 and £180,000 FTE - depending on experience.How will we support you?
You will be part of a team of 15 plus experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatristsYou will be able to attend monthly Consultant''s meetings and 1:1 clinical supervisionBespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checksMain duties of the job
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You willProvide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsiteActively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervisionWork within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi professional complex case reviewsCareer development

Registered professional with current registration (GMC)Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic PsychiatryApproved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency workingUp to date knowledge in the adult psychiatry and PDAwareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislationAdditional information
