Commercial Manager – Capital Projects

Location: East of England – Flexible across the Anglian Water region
Salary: Up to £110,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Ganymede Solutions is recruiting an experienced Commercial Manager to take commercial leadership of a significant portfolio of capital projects for Anglian Water.

The successful individual will take responsibility for a programme worth approximately £75m, encompassing a range of design and build water infrastructure schemes including pipeline, pumping station and associated civil engineering works.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for a substantial commercial team and provides an excellent opportunity to play a key role within Anglian Water''s significant AMP8 investment programme.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will take overall commercial responsibility for the portfolio, providing leadership to the commercial team and working closely with operational and senior management.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Commercial leadership of a circa £75m capital programme
• Leading, managing and developing a large commercial team
• Providing strategic commercial direction across multiple projects
• Cost management, forecasting and financial reporting
• Contract and subcontract management
• Procurement and supply-chain management
• Change management and contractual administration
• Management of commercial risk and opportunity
• Driving projects through delivery, completion and final account
• Ensuring robust commercial governance and controls
• Working closely with operational and project leadership
• Developing strong relationships with Anglian Water and supply-chain stakeholders

About You

We are looking for an established commercial leader with:

• Significant commercial experience within water, utilities or major civil engineering
• Previous experience operating at Commercial Manager or equivalent level
• Strong experience leading and developing commercial teams
• Experience commercially managing significant portfolios or multiple concurrent projects
• Strong contractual and financial management knowledge
• Experience across design and build infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of change management, forecasting, cost control and commercial reporting
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capability

Previous water sector experience is highly desirable, particularly across capital delivery involving pipelines, pumping stations and associated civils.

The position can be based flexibly across the Anglian Water region, with access to a number of operational offices. Due to the seniority and scale of the position, regular visibility across projects and offices will be important, particularly during the initial six months.
