The Role
As a Chef Manager, youandrsquo;ll take responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, hygiene and safety are maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Preparing and cooking fresh, high-quality meals
- Leading, motivating and supporting the kitchen team
- Following menus, recipes and catering requirements
- Managing stock, ordering and minimising food waste
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures are followed
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen
- Supporting the wider catering operation
- Ensuring meals are delivered on time and to a high standard
- Creating a positive dining experience for students and staff
Key Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, Sous Chef or Senior Chef
- Experience leading or supervising a kitchen team
- Contract catering or education catering experience is highly desirable
- Food Safety Level 2 certificate
- Food Allergen Awareness certificate
- Good knowledge of food safety and allergen procedures
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to confidently manage a busy kitchen
- Reliable, professional and flexible approach
