Assistant HR Business Partner

Belmont Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Assistant Human Resources & Organisational Development Advisor to join the Business Transformation Directorate at Bromsgrove and Redditch Council. This is a temporary contract working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate will provide advice and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and terms and conditions, as well as playing an active role in recruitment, training, and organisational development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide HR advice to managers and employees across the organisation.

• Act as the focal point for recruitment and selection, ensuring compliance with policy, good practice, and legislation.

• Support and participate in recruitment campaigns and represent the Council at careers events.

• Provide advice on employee relations matters including disciplinary and grievance cases, up to dismissal.

• Monitor and review HR policies, ensuring compliance with legislation and recommending improvements.

• Conduct exit interviews and redeployment interviews as required.

• Liaise with Occupational Health, Trade Unions, and other stakeholders to resolve HR issues.

• Assist with the design and delivery of in-house training courses and development programmes.

• Contribute to HR projects, research, policy drafting, and implementation.

• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times.

Location - The Town Hall, Redditch,-B98 8AH (2x days on site and 3x days working from home).
